Introducing the Site

When I was a kid, I would love to go grocery shopping because it meant I could go cart surfing. We have all done it, hold onto the handle bar run as fast as we can and then jump onto the back of the undercarriage, sending yourself across the parking lot or down the aisle. With some proper due diligence you have avoided the carts in the corral with one of the wheels being so broken/jammed/stuck that you find yourself becoming immediately frustrated with everything around you.

On this site readers will find articles about retail, retailers and customers. Some will be more timely than others, some will be more formal than others but the goal is that readers can learn something new with each one.

So why did you name the site Busted Shopping Cart? Because all the other good names were taken. Just kidding - I chose it because like the kid above we always try to not have the Busted Shopping Cart. After finding a parking spot at the store, the next decision we make is which shopping cart to take with us on our journey. If you aren’t careful you will be stuck with a 3-wheeled monster with a mind of its own and will ultimately ruin the nice time you might have had otherwise. You find yourself fixating on why the store has kept it in the corral at the entrance to their store and wondering why they can’t just fix it. Hopefully these articles give you the same curiosity and leave you thinking about why you shop, what you shop for and how it could be better. Happy reading.
